Communication To Members - RMT Governance Transition

Sent 2-1-19

First, as your Regional Executive Committee (REC) for the past almost two years, Annette, Karen and Paula would like to thank you for your support, interest and participation in this pilot governance model. Last week, International informed all members that the Regional Executive Committee model did not receive the 2/3 vote by all regions and therefore, Sweet Adeline Regions will revert back to the Regional Management Team (RMT) form of governance.

The REC has been in communication with International to establish a plan for transitioning back to the RMT governance structure. The current REC and Resource Team members will continue through April 30, 2019. On May 1st, the newly appointed  RMT will assume their roles.

Well over 20 Region 5 members have stepped up in the past two years to serve our region under the pilot form of governance. The REC is excited to take much of this experience and apply it to the RMT model. We encourage you to consider serving the region as either an RMT Coordinator, or as a Resource Team member (positions yet to be determined).  Position descriptions and applications for Regional Management Team (RMT) and Resource Team will be available soon.

The following positions are appointed by the current REC - Annette, Karen and Paula
·         Communications Coordinator (1-year term)
·         Events Coordinator (2-year term)
·         Finance Coordinator (2-year term)
·         Marketing Coordinator (2-year term)

  • Education Coordinator  (1-year term)  - this position recommended by the region and appointed by International Education Direction Committee
  • Membership Coordinator (1-year term) -  this position will be elected by the regional membership - One Chapter/One Vote

1-Year Term Dates: May 1, 2019 – April 30, 2020
2-Year Term Dates: May1, 2019 – April 30, 2021

Timeline:
